SAP are proud to announce that the British Standards Institution (BSI) has certified its processes for data protection and privacy.
SAP is one of the first companies to receive global certification from BSI for BS 10012:2017*. This covers how a company collects, stores, processes, retains or disposes of personal records.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the first major overhaul of EU-data protection rules in 20 years. GDPR gives individuals more control over their personal data.
“At SAP, data protection and privacy is a top priority. For us it is not a new trend – it is part of our DNA . BSI certification proves our internal processes are ready for GDPR. Our teams are very proud, as this is one of the highest data protection standards available.”Luka Mucic, SAP SE Executive Boa
The BSI certification recognises that SAP adheres to leading international standards for data protection and privacy. SAP is committed to GDPR compliance as a company by May 25, 2018. Plus, SAP products help to ensure customers are also prepared for GDPR.
“Data protection is a leading concern for companies of all sizes and sectors. Many of whom manage large amounts of data on their employees, customers and suppliers. By achieving BSI, SAP has shown that they’re taking a best-practice approach when acquiring, storing, processing and sharing personal data. It shows SAP are committed to building information resilience.”Howard Kerr , Chief Executive Officer, BSI
